Samuel Smith was born about 1602. He is "supposed" to have died in 1680, age 78. [Ref] He married Elizabeth Unknown. [Ref] She was born about 1602. She died on 16 Mar 1686, age about 84. [Ref]

Samuel and Elizabeth, both age 32, and their children Samuel, age nine, Elizabeth, age seven, Mary, age four, and Philip, age one, sailed on the Elizabeth of Ipswich for New England on 30 Apr 1634. [Ref] They went to Wethersfield and then Hadley. [Ref]

Children of Samuel Smith:

  1. Samuel Smith was born about 1625. He married Elizabeth Smith. [Ref]
  2. Elizabeth Smith was born about 1627. She married first Nathaniel Foote. [Ref] She married second William Gull. [Ref]
  3. Mary Smith was born about 1630. She married John Graves.
  4. Philip Smith was born about 1633. He married Rebecca Foote. [Ref]
  5. Chileab Smith was born about 1635. [Ref] He married Hannah Hitchcock. [Ref]
  6. John Smith was born about 1637. [Ref] He was slain by the Indians on 30 May 1676 in Hatfield. [Ref] He married Mary Partridge on 20 Nov 1663. [Ref] Mary was the daughter of William Partridge. [Ref] She died on 20 May 1683. [Ref] She married second Peter Montague. [Ref]

Mary Smith was born about 1630. She died before 20 Jul 1671, when her husband remarried. [Ref] She married John Graves. [Ref]
