1. Joseph Butterfield was "probably a son of Jonathan and Mary (Dixon) Butterfield". [Ref, 44;36] He married Elizabeth Richardsons. [Ref, 44;36] Elizabeth was the daughter of Ezekiel and Mary (Bunker) Richardson of Chelmsford. [Ref, 44;36]
   1. Joseph Butterfield died in 1741. [Ref, 44;39] He married Dorothy Heald. [Ref, 44;39] Dorothy was the daughter of Gershom and Hannah Heald of Concord. [Ref, 44;39]
      Dorothy petitioned for Lieut. Jabez Keep of Westford to be appointed guardian of her children Ebenezer, age about 13, and Dorothy, age about ten, on 8 Dec 1749. [Ref, 44;39]
