Richard Woodward died on 16 Feb 1664/5 [Ref][Ref] in Watertown. [Ref] He married first Rose Unknown. [Ref] She died on 6 (8) 1662. [Ref] He married second Anne (Veare) Gates (contract 18 Apr 1663). [Ref] Anne, the widow of Stephen Gates, was probably born about 1603. [Ref]
Richard, Rose and two thirteen-year-old boys, George and John, came to New England on the Elizabeth of Ipswich, bound for New England the last of April 1634.[Ref]
Richard settled in Watertown. [Ref] He was a freeman on 2 Sep 1635. [Ref] On 8 Sep 1648 Edward and Anne Holiock of Boston sold their windmill to Richard Woodward of Boston. [Ref] On 26 Dec 1648 Richard Woodward of Boston sold his windmill to William Aspinawall. [Ref] Richard was on a jury in 1654. [Ref]
Administration was granted on Richard of Watertown's estate in 1654. [Ref]

George Woodward was born in about 1621 if he was 13 when he came to New England in 1634. [Ref] He died on 31 May 1676 in Watertown. [Ref] He married first Mary Unknown. [Ref] He probably married second Elizabeth Hammond on 17 Aug 1659. [Ref says Apr] in Watertown.[Ref] Elizabeth died on 24 Aug 1700, age 66, in Watertown. [Ref]
George came to New England with his parents. [Ref] He settled in Watertown. [Ref] He was made a freeman on 6 May 1646. [Ref]

Daniel Woodward was born on 2 Apr 1653 [Ref] in Watertown. [Ref] He died on 31 July 1713 in Newton. [Ref] He is said to be of Preston in the Newton records. He married Elizabeth Dana [Ref] on 14 Jan 1679 in Medford. [Ref]
Daniel Woodward was a soldier in King Philip's war under Capt. Nathaniel Davenport and Capt. Ting on 24 Jun 1675. [Ref] He is on a list from 25 Nov - 3 Dec 1675 of men in King Philip's War from Cambridge. [Ref] He is on a 24 Jun list of soldiers in King Philip's War at the garrison in Chelmsford. [Ref] He is on a 24 Aug 1676 list of soldiers in King Philip's War. [Ref] He took the oath of fidelity on the first Monday of Feb 1677 in Medford. [Ref] He is on a 17 Jan 1684 tax list in Medford. [Ref] He is on a 31 Aug 1688 tax list in Medford. [Ref]
In 1690 Daniel was licensed by the selectman to open the first house of entertainment in Medford. [Ref]
A deed dated 23 Jan 1708/9 records Daniel Woodward's purchase of land from Capt. John Parke of Preston for 5£ 10s. [Ref]
On 11 Oct 1711 a Daniel Woodward was deputy from Preston. [Ref] Spencer [Ref] says that this is our Daniel. Caulkins [Ref] says that when Daniel Woodward of Preston died in 1713 he left a wife Elizabeth and 12 children.

[Ref][Ref] She died on 29 Apr 1790 in Canterbury. [Ref][Ref] She is buried in the Baldwin cemetery in Canterbury. Click here to see a photo of her grave. She married first William Adams on 2 May 1723 in Norwich. [Ref][Ref][Ref, p. 145] She married second, as his second wife, Capt. Joseph Adams [Ref] on 4 Apr 1728 [Ref] in Canterbury. [Ref, p. 145] Joseph was the son of Samuel and Mary Adams and the grandson of Lieut. Thomas Adams. [Ref][Ref, p. 145] He died on 3 Mar 1752. [Ref] He married first Eunice Spalding on 23 Jul 1708. [Ref] He was a prominent man and a large land dealer in Canterbury. [Ref]
Susanna was admitted to the Congregational Church at Canterbury on 2 Apr 1732. [Ref]
