John died in 1683 leaving a widow Priscilla, who died in 5 Feb 1692 [Ref says 15 Feb] in Ipswich. [Ref] [There is an Ipswich record for a death of John on 9 Jan 1690. [Ref]]

John was granted six acres of marsh on 7 Feb 1647. [Ref] He is on a 19 Dec 1648 list of taxpayers in Ipswich. [Ref]

In his will, John named his son John; his daughters Ruth, Sarah Perkins and Priscilla Persons; his granddaughter Sarah Pritchett. [Ref]

  1. John Denison 2 died on 12 Aug 1725 in Ipswich. He married first Ruth Ayer. He married second Elizabeth Unknown.

John Denison of Ipswich died on 12 Aug 1725 in Ipswich. [Ref] He married first Ruth Ayer. She died on 2 Feb 1694/5 and he married second Elizabeth Unknown. [Ref]

John was a weaver. [Ref]

John received the covenant of the church on 25 Jan 1673/4. [Ref]

John signed his will on 24 Jul 1725; it was proved on 22 Jan 1726/7. [Ref] In his will he mentions his wife Elizabeth; his sons John, George and Daniel; his daughters Ruth and Hannah Kingsbury; his aged sister Smith. [Ref]

  1. Ruth Denison was born on 9 Aug 1684 [Ref] in Ipswich. [Ref] She died on 15 Aug 1685 [Ref] in Ipswich. [Ref]
  2. Ruth Denison was born on 7 Jun 1686 in Ipswich. She died on 2 Feb 1694/5. She married Capt. Joseph Kingsbury 2.
  3. John Denison was born on 28 Apr 1692. [Ref] He died on 4 May 1761 [Ref] in Ipswich. [Ref] In his will of 18 Jan 1754, he mentions his two sisters Ruth and Hannah Kingsbury. [Ref]
  4. Hannah Denison died on 14 May 1772 in Andover and is buried in the Andover burying ground. She married Nathaniel Kingsbury of Norwich after 2 Apr 1709, when they published their intention in Ipswich. [Ref]
  5. John Denison was born on 28 Apr 1692 [Ref] in Ipswich. [Ref] He died on 4 May 1761 in Ipswich. [Ref] He may be the John who married Rebecca Wallis after 12 Aug 1727, when they publised their intention in Ipswich. [Ref] Rebecca died on 4 May 1752 in Ipswich. [Ref]
  6. Priscilla Denison was born on 14 Jan 1694/5 [Ref] in Ipswich. [Ref] She died on 30 Jan 1694/5 [Ref] in Ipswich. [Ref]

RUTH DENISON (1686 - 1779)

Ruth Denison was born on 7 Jun 1686 [Ref] in Ipswich. [Ref] She died on 6 May 1779 and is buried in the Franklin Burying Ground in Franklin, New London, CT. [Ref] She married Capt. Joseph Kingsbury 2. Click here to see a photo of Ruth's grave on the Findagrave website.

Her father mentions his daughter Ruth Kingsbury in his will. [Ref]

Ruth was admitted by profession of faith to the church in West Farms on 22 Mar 1719. [Ref] Her gravestone says that "she left five children, 61 grandchildren, 152 great grandchildren, 15 great great grandchildren." [Ref]
