EDWARD WYATT (d. 1680) of Dorchestor

Parents:

Edward Wyatt died on 14 Feb 1680 in Dorchester. [Ref] He married Mary Unknown. Mary was born about 1613. Mary, the wife of Edward Wyatt, died on 6 Feb 1705, age 92, and is buried in the Milton cemetery. [Ref]

Edward Wyatt is on the __ May 1645 list of freemen. [Ref]

  1. Nathaniel Wyatt died on 20 Mar 1702/3 in Dorchester. He married first Joanna Spurr. He married second the widow Mary Corbin.

NATHANIEL WYATT (d. by 1703) of Dorchester

Parents: Edward Wyatt and Mary Unknown

Nathaniel Wyatt died on 20 Mar 1702/3 in Dorchester. [It is possible that this is his son Nathaniel] [Ref] Nathaniel, the son of Edward, married first Joanna Spurr on 8 (11) 1668 in Dorchester. [Ref][Ref] She died on 22 Mar 1687/8 in Dorchester. [Ref] He married second the widow Mary Corbin of New Cambridge on 13 Dec 1688. [Ref][Ref] Mary was the widow of John Corbin. [Ref]

On 22 Dec 1718, Nathaniel'ss son-in-law Peter Lyon requested a hearing before administration was granted on his estate. [Ref]

  1. Nathaniel Wyatt was born on 26 (9) 1669 in Dorchester. [Ref][Ref] There is a Stamford, CT record of a son Nathaniel born to Nathaniel and Rachel (Webster) Wyatt on 18 Jul 1698. [Ref]
  2. Edward Wyatt was born on 5 (8) 1671 in Dorchester. [Ref][Ref] He was baptised on 2 Mar 1690 in Milton. [Ref]
  3. Susanna Wyatt was born on 7 Mar 1674/5 in Dorchester. [Ref][Ref]
  4. Jonathan Wyatt was born on 27 May 1677 in Dorchester. He was baptised as an adult on 25 May 1707 in Stonington. He married Martha Vose.

  5. Benjamin Wyatt was born on 21 Feb 1699 in Dorchester. (Unless he is the son of Nathaniel, Jr.) He may be the Benjamin Wyatt who married Miriam Puffer on 11 Jan 1719/20 in Dorchester. [Ref]

JONATHAN WYATT of Stonington (b. 1677)

Parents: Nathaniel Wyatt and Joanna Spurr

Jonathan Wyatt was born on 27 May 1677 in Dorchester. [Ref][Ref][Ref] He was baptised as an adult on 25 May 1707 in the First Congregational Church in Stonington. [Ref][Ref] He married Martha Vose. [Ref]

Jonathan was taxed in Milton in Mar 1702. [Ref] On 3 Aug 1706 Jonathan is referred to as of Westerly. [Ref]

The following, dated 22 Dec 1718 in Boston, is is found in the Suffolk registry office: "Peter Lyon who married the Daughter of Nathaniel Wyatt of Dorchester Housewright deceased desires that administration may not be granted to his brother-in-law Jonathan Wyatt nor any other person till he and the rest of his Children have a hearing before his Honr. the Judge of Probate." [Ref]

Children of Jonathan Wyatt:

  1. Jemima Wyatt was baptised on 3 Aug 1706 in the First Congregational Church in Stonington. [Ref][Ref]
  2. Jonathan Wyatt was born on 19 Mar 1706/7 in Stonington. [Ref] He was baptised on 25 May 1707 in the First Congregational Church in Stonington. [Ref][Ref] He died by Oct 1739, when his will was proved in Stonington. [Ref] He left all of his belongings to his brother Elijah. [Ref]
  3. Elijah Wyatt was born on 23 Apr 1709 in Stonington. [Ref] He was baptised on 22 May 1709 in the First Congregational Church in Stonington. [Ref] He died after 23 Mar 1777, when he signed his will. [Ref] Among others, he mentions his sisters Abigail Palmer and Mary Hinckley; his brother William Palmer; William and Abigail's children William, Martha, Jonathan Wyatt and Barbara. [Ref]
  4. Abigail Wyatt was baptised on 6 May 1711 in Stonington. She was baptised on 6 May 1711 in the First Congregational Church in Stonington. She married William Palmer.
  5. Martha Wyatt was baptised on 29 Nov 1713 in the First Congregational Church in Stonington. [Ref]
  6. Mary Wyatt was born on 8 Dec 1717 in Stonington. [Ref] She was baptised on 2 Mar 1718 in the First Congregational Church in Stonington. [Ref] She died before 13 Dec 1761, when her husband remarried. She married Samuel Hinckley on 30 Dec 1736 in Stonington. [Ref] Samuel was the son of Samuel and Martha (Lothrop) Hinckley, and she was his second wife. [Ref] Samuel died on 9 Mov 1763. [Ref] He married third Mary Bacon on 13 Dec 1761. [Ref]

ABIGAIL WYATT (bp 6 May 1711 - 1784-5) of Stonington

Parents: Jonathan Wyatt and Martha Vose

Abigail Wyatt was baptised on 6 May 1711 in the First Congregational Church in Stonington. [Ref][Ref] She died in 1784-5. [Ref, p. 86] She married William Palmer on 16 Dec 1728 in Stonington. [Ref][Ref]
