- Jedidiah Allen
was born on 3 Jan 1646/7 in Sandwich and died on 21 Jan 1711/2 in Shrewsbury,
Monmouth, New Jersey. [Ref, p.
41] He died between 15 Sep 1711 and 6 Feb 1711/2. He married Elizabeth
Howland by 1669. [Ref, p. 1019]
In 1691 Jedidiah Allen sold his wife's sister's husband Robert Dennis 150
acres in Monmouth county, New Jersey. [Ref,
p. 416]
Jedidiah "became a leading citizen of East Jersey". [Ref,
3;2;79] A notable Quaker Quarterly Meeting was held in his orchard in Shrewsbury,
Monmouth county. [Ref,
3;2;79] He was a representative from Monmouth county to the General Assembly
in in 1703. [Ref, 3;2;79]
Jedidiah Allen of Shrewsbury, Monmouth county, New Jersey signed his will
on 15 Sep 1711; in was proved on 6 Feb 1711/2. Among others it names his wife
Elizabeth and disposes of some property, including "a negro girl and
a grindstone." [Ref,
p. 228] He named his daughter Mary Wells. [Ref,

- Mary Allen was born on 15 Nov 1681
in Sandwich, Barnstable, Massachusetts. [Ref,
p. 40] She married first Daniel Wells about 1706/7. [Ref,
p. 40] He died on 31 Jan 1715. [Ref,
p. 40] She probably married second Thomas Smith. [Ref,
p. 39] Thomas was born say 1672 and died in 1732 in Cape May county, New
Jersey. [Ref, p. 39] He married
first Alathea Dayton about 1700/1. [Ref,
p. 39] Alathea, the daughter of Jacob and Ruth (Diament) Dayton, was born
abut 1680 and died on 19 Dec 1714. [Ref,
p. 39] Thomas married third Abigail, the widow of Samuel Johnson. [Ref,
p. 39] Abigail was probably the daughter of Richard Swain, born 7 Feb
1683. [Ref, p. 43]
Daniel Wells was a Quaker. [Ref,
p. 40]
Thomas Smith, yeoman of Cape May, signed his will on 28 Dec 1731; it was
proved on 13 May 1732. [Ref,
p. 43] Among others he mentions his son Anthony Smith. [Ref,
p. 46]

He died in 1809 or 1810 in Greene county, Pennsylvania. [Ref,
p. 65] He married Lydia Willets after 16 May 1746 (lic.). [Ref,
p. 65] Lydia, the daughter of Timothy and Judith Willets, was born
on 16 Jan 1726 and died after her husband signed his will on 3 Jun

Anthony and Lydia became Quakers at Little Egg Harbor, Burlington,
New Jersey in 1768. [Ref,

the right to live with her mother as long as she remained a widow.
