NICHOLAS SNOW (d. 1676) of Eastham

Nicholas Snow died on 15 Nov 1676 [Ref, p. 11] in Eastham. [Ref, 6;203] He married Constance Hopkins. [Ref, p. 9]

Nicholas came to New England in the Ann in 1623. [Ref, p. 11]

On 2 Jan 1632/3 and on 2 Jan 1633/4 the General Court asked the colonists to pay taxes, in grain or the equivalent. [Ref][Ref] Nicholas was assessed relatively low taxes in both years. [Ref]

Nicholas was a freeman in 1633. [Ref, p. 9] He is in the Plymouth section of the 1643 list of those between 16 and 60 able to bear arms in Plymouth Colony. [Ref]

He was an original inhabitant of Eastham on 22 May 1655. [Ref] He served 16 years as town clerk. He was deputy for three years from 1648. [Ref, p. 11] He was a selectman for seven years. [Ref, p. 11]

5. Stephen Snow was born about 1636 in Plymouth. He died between 2 Apr 1697 and 20 Dec 1705. He married first as her second husband Susanna Deane. He married second Mary Unknown.

8. Lieut. Jabez Snow was born about 1642 in Plymouth. [Ref, p. 11] He died on 27 Dec 1690 [Ref][Ref, 4;32] while on the Canada Expedition. [Ref, p. 12] He married Elizabeth Smith. [Ref, p. 12] Elizabeth was the daughter of Ralph Smith. [Ref, p. 12] She married second as his second wife William Merrick of Eastham. [Ref, p. 12] He married first Abigail Hopkins. [Ref, p. 12]
   On 26 1670 Jabez was fined for commiting fornication with his wife prior to marriage. [Ref]

9. Ruth Snow was born about 1644 in Plymouth. [Ref, p. 11] She died on 27 Jan 1716 in Eastham. [Ref, 5;197] She married John Cole on 10 Dec 1666 in Eastham. [Ref, 5;196][Ref] John, the son of Daniel and Ruth (Chester) Cole, was born on 15 Jul 1644. [Ref, p. 11]

11. Rebecca Snow was born in 16148 in Eastham. [Ref, p. 11] She married Samuel Rickard. [Ref, p. 11]

Abigail Snow married Michael Ford on 12 Dec 1667 in Marshfield. [Ref]

The widow Rebecca Snow married John Sawyer on 23 Nov 1694 in Marshfield. [Ref]

Mary Snow was born about 1630 in Plymouth. [Ref, p. 11] She married Thomas Paine [Ref, p. 11] about 1650. [Ref]

STEPHEN SNOW (c. 1636 - 1697/1705)

Parents: Nicholas Snow and Constance Hopkins

Stephen Snow was born about 1636 in Plymouth. [Ref, p. 11] He died between 2 Apr 1697, when he wrote his will and 20 Dec 1705, when inventory was taken on his estate. [Ref, 3;13-16] He married first as her second husband Susanna Deane [Ref, p. 11] on 13 Dec 1665 in Eastham. [Ref, 6;13] He married second Mary Unknown. She died after 21 May 1706.

Stephen was admitted as an inhabitant of Eastham before 1675. [Ref]

In his will of 2 Apr 1697 Stephen refers to his wife, his two sons Michaiah and Ebenezer and his daughter Mehitable Snow. [Ref, 3;13-16] On 21 May 1706 his widow Mary and Ebenezer Snow, John King, William Cole, John Smith and Mehitable Snow - all children of husbands of daughters of Stephen, attested that they had received their share of Stephen's estate and relinquished further claims. [Ref, 3;13-16]

Elizabeth Snow was born about 1640 in Plymouth. [Ref, p. 22] She died on 16 Jun 1678 in Eastham. She married Thomas Rogers on 13 Dec 1665 in Eastham. [Ref 6;14]

BETHIAH SNOW

Parents: Stephen Snow and Susanna Deane

Bethiah Snow was living in 1734 when her husband John's estate was finally settled. [Ref, p. 24] She married John Smith [Ref, p. 20] on 14 May 1694. [Ref, p. 25]
