the son of Dr. Clement and Susanna Brooke Smith. [Ref,
p. 298] He died on 29 Aug 1796 [Ref,
p. 298] in Georgetown. [Ref,
p. 383]
Walter served in the Maryland militia 1776 - 7. [Ref,
p. 298] He was a surgeon in the Revolutionary War. [Ref,
p. 298]
