William Phippen of Wedmore was buried on 10 Dec 1647. [Ref] He married Judith Unknown. She was buried on 10 Dec 1637. [Ref]

William Phippen of Wedmore, Somerset's will was proved on 9 Sep 1650 [Ref] by his daughter Elizabeth, the wife of John Adams [Ref]. In it, he refers to himself as a baker of Wedmore. He mentions his daughters Joane, Francis and Elizabeth; his brother Joseph Phipping in Ireland; his son-in-law John Addams; his daughter Judah in New England. [Ref]

Judith Phippen was baptised as the daughter of William on 25 Sep 1617. [Ref] She died on 3 Jan 1689 in Woburn. [Ref] She married first James Hayward. [Ref, p. 8] He died on 20 Nov 1642. [Ref 2;394] She married second William Simonds on 18 Mar 1643 in Woburn. [Ref]

Judith Phippen, age 16, and James Hayward, age 22, both servants, are on a 22 Mar 1634 passenger list of the Planter. [Ref, 14;303] James was a tailor and apprentice to fellow passentger Nicholas Davies [Ref, 14;303]. [Ref 131;124] He was from Wapping, Stepney, co. Middlesex. [Ref 131;124]

Children of Judith Phippen and James Hayward:

  1. Rebecca Hayward was born on 4 Dec 1642. [Ref 2;394]
