Services planned for Marian J. Larsen, 84

Memorial services for Marian J. Larsen, 84, a Mercer Island resident since 1916, will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Emmanuel Episcopal Church, of which she was a member for 56 years. The Bleitz Funeral Home directed cremation. She died Saturday.

Mrs Larsen and her husband Clarence, former president of the Charles H. Lilly Co., moved to Mercer Island on their wedding day, living at first in tents on a waterfront lot they purchased before their marriage.

A native of Tacoma, Mrs. Larsen was reared in Seattle. She was active in the Rock Garden Society, the Rhododendron Society, the Mercer Island Garden Club and the University of Washington Arboretum.

In 1972 the couple received the Bishop's Cross from the Right Rev. Ivol I. Curtis, bishop of Olympia, for their contributions to the Episcopal Church.

In 1956, Mrs. Larsen and her husband started The Tuesday Group for senior citizens at the Emmanuel Episcopal Church.

They celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary last April.
