Lothrop (John) and Susanna Clark of Barnstable
- Bathshuba Lothrop
married first Samuel Smith
on 26 May 1690. [Ref, pp. 66-7]
She married second Samuel Freeman. [Ref,
pp. 66-7]
Inventory was taken on Samuel's estate in 1693 with his widow Bathshuba attesting.
[Ref, 1;85-7] Letters of administration
were granted to Bathshuba on 1 Apr 1693. [Ref,
1;85-7]
In the settlement of her father-in-law's estate, the mother of Samuel and
Joseph is caslled Bathshua Freeman alisas Smith. The gaurdians of Samuel and
Joseph are Mary Smith, the widow of John, Mary Hamilton and Samuel Freeman.
[Ref, 2;49] Bathshua was awarded
50 pounds that would have gone to her sons on 5 Jul 1697. The judge of probate
making the decision was Barnabas Lothrop. [Ref,

Bathshuba's name is spelled different ways in the records. Perhaps it should
be Bathsheba.
