EDMUND LEWIS (c. 1601 - 1650) of Watertown and Lynn, Essex, Massachusetts

Parents:

Edmund was born about 1601. [age 33 in 1634] He died in Jan 1650. [Ref, pp. 4-7] Edmund married Mary Unknown. [Ref, pp. 4-7] She was born about 1602. [age 32 in 1634] She died on 7 : 7 : 1658 in Lynn. [Ref, wid. Edmond]

On 10 Apr 1634 Edmund, age 33, his wife Mary, age 32, his son John, age three, and his son John, age 3/4, embarked for New England on the Elizabeth. [Ref, pp. 4-7] They settled at Watertown. [Ref, pp. 4-7] Edmund was a freeman on 24 May 1636. [Ref, pp. 4-7] He was a selectman in 1638. [Ref, pp. 4-7] The family later moved to Lynn. [Ref, pp. 4-7]

Edmund signed his will on 13 : 11 : 1650. The will and inventory, amounting to pounds 122.7.6, was brought to court by the widow Mary on 25 : 12 : 1650/1. [Ref, pp. 4-7] Edmund mentions his wife, his sons John and Thomas and five unnamed younger children. [Ref, pp. 4-7]

  2. Thomas Lewis was born about 1633. He died on 26 Apr 1709 in Bristol, Rhode Island. He married Hannah Baker.

  4. Nathaniel Lewis was born on 25 : 6 1639 in Watertown. [Ref, pp. 4-7]
  5. Unknown Lewis was buried on 6 Nov 1642, age 20 days, in Watertown. [Ref, pp. 4-7]
  6. Unknown Lewis was probably born after 1642 in Lynn and was alive on 13 : 11 : 1650. [Ref, pp. 4-7]
