I, Issac Lasseter, being of sound and disposing mind and memory but weak in body.
I will and desire that immediately after my decease my executors should sell my
stock of horses, cattle, sheep, hogs, plantation tools, household and kitchen
furniture, with all corn, fodder, wheat and oats that may be on the premises with
all cotton and the money on hand pay my just debts and funeral expenses. With
the remaining money from the sale of all notes and accounts when collected to
remove $1000, if that much is necessary for the schooling of my youngest children
to wit; Jacob, Amos, Samuel, Nancy, Mary and Jane Lasseter. The remaining sum
to be equally divided between my wife Faithy Lasseter and my children Jonathan,
Eliza, Shimuel, Issac, Jacob, Sarah, Amos, Samuel, Nancy, Mary and Jane Lasseter
to them an equal share as soon as they have arrived at the age of twenty-one years
or marriage...I also desire that my land which is in Abbeville and Edgefield districts
also my negros at present 37 in number to be laid off and divided into twelve
shares of equal value to be divided between my wife Faithy Lasseter and and my
said children, I do give to them and their heirs forever. It is my desire that
the lots for my youngest children to have some land fit for cultivation also the
negroes for the youngest children to be taken by my executors and rent out the
land and negroes for the minor children until they are of age. I have given to
my son-in-law George Seybers the husband of my daughter Edaline her share of my
estate and if demanded I give the sum of $5...I appoint my friend Col. John Hearst
and Patrick Gibson as executors,
