Lydia Gaymer was baptised on 18 May 1602 in Terling, Essex. [Ref] She was died between 23 Jul 1669, when she consented to a deed, and 28 Feb 1669/70, when she was not named in her husband's will. [Ref] She married Humphrey Turner on 24 Oct 1618 in Sandon, Essex. [Ref]

Why did Humphrey and Lydia get married in Sandon? Turner [Ref] explains that the rector there was willing to perform quick weddings: he married 511 couples between 1615 and 1635. As Lydia was about 17 when she married Humphrey, they may have found it expedient. [Ref]

A Scituate land record establishes that Humphrey Turner's wife was named Lydia. [Ref]

Goody Turner joined the church in Scituate on 10 Jan 1635/6. [Ref]
