Parents:
Richard Garrett died on 29 Mar 1662 [Ref gives only the year] in Boston. [Ref] He married Lydia Tilden by 1648. [Ref] He married Lydia Tilden. [Ref], the daughter of Elder Nathaniel Tilden. [Ref]
Deane [Ref] says that he is supposed to have been a son of Capt. Richard Garrett and the brother of Capt. Robert Garrett of Boston. [Ref]
Richard witnessed the 14 Nov 1648 will of Thomas Rickard of Scituate; Thomas left him a bequest. [Ref]
Richard was the first clerk of the Conihassett Partners of Scituate in 1636 - 1639, although he was not a partner himself. [Ref] His land was in front of the First Society's meetinghouse. [Ref]

Joseph Garrett was baptised on 8 Apr 1649 in the Second Church Scituate. [Ref] He died on 19 Jul 1714, age 66, and is buried in Scituate. [Ref] He married Ruth Buck on 17 Jan 1676 in Scituate. [Ref]
Joseph was a soldier in King Philip's War, serving under Lieut. Gillam on 24 Jun 1676. [Ref]
