DANIEL EPPS of Ipswich

Parents:

Daniel Epps married Martha Reade. [Ref][Ref, p. 458] Martha married second Samuel Symonds. [Ref, p. 458]

Daniel brought an unsuccessful suit against Henry Bennett in 1684, accusing him of harboring his Indian boy Lyonel. [Ref]

Children of Daniel Epps and Martha Read:

  1. Elizabeth Epps married James Chute.
  2. Daniel Epps married Elizabeth, the daughter of the Hon. Samuel Symonds. [Ref]
    Daneil presumably came to New England with his mother and stepfather. [Ref, p. 458] "Mr. Epps" is on a 19 Dec 1648 list of taxpayers in Ipswich. [Ref] This "Mr. Epps" is the Daniel who married Elizabeth Symonds. [Ref]

ELIZABETH EPPS (m. c. 1647)

Parents: Daniel Epps and Martha Reade [Ref, p. 458]

Elizabeth Epps married James Chute [Ref] in 1647. [Ref][Ref, p. 458, says about 1649]

Elizabeth came to New England a few years before her family, travelling with her aunt Elizabeth (Reade) Winthrop, who had married John Winthrop, Jr. [Ref, p. 458]
