For exceptionally meritorious service in a position of great responsibility from l4th January, 1944, to 9th May, 1945. As the Assistant Chief of Staff, G-2, Headquarters, 12th Army Group, General Sibert supervised the entire intelligence operations of the Group. His superbly organised staff constantly provided vital intelligence and information to Supreme Headquarters, Allied Expeditionary Force and contributed immeasurably to the final success of Allied arms. Carefully integrating British, French, and American intelligence services, he strengthened the intelligence structure and established extrermely cordial interrelationships. Striving always for the most speedy dissemination of intelligence to all echelons of the Command, he reduced the time lag between reconnaissance and the actual giving of intelligence to a minimum.
