Mr Anthony Hatcher, Mr. Thomas Howes and Mr. John Crowe were originally chosen to apportion land in Yarmouth. This led to complaints and in Mar 1647/8 the Court appointed Capt. Miles Standish to visit the town and settle the differences. Mr. Star, William Nickerson and Robert Dennis were added to the committee to apportion land for the following year. This led to acrimoney and assorted defamation and slander suits by and against William and others. In Oct 1650 the Court ordered the suits to cease. [Ref, p. 58-9]
