SGT. ROBERT BADCOCK (c. 1625 - 1694) of Dorchester and Milton
Parents: Appleton [Ref, p. ] asserts that David Badcock, who was a member of the Dorchestor church in 1640, was probably a father of Robert, George Badcock and Margaret Badcock.
Robert Badcock was born about 1625. [Ref] He died in 1694. [Ref][Ref, p. 21] He married Joanna Unknown. [Ref, p. 21][Ref says Isana? or Joanna?] She was born about 1629. [Ref] She died in 1700, age 71. [Ref][Ref, p. 21]
Robert was an assessor in Dorchester in 1657. [Ref, p. 21]
Robert Badcock was one of the first land owners in Milton. [Ref, p. 12] He had a track of 107 acres between the brook bearing his name and the Neponset river. [Ref, p. 14] In 1670 he purchased land west of his own from Teague Crehore; in 1671 he purchased land from Nathaniel Duncan. [Ref, p. 16]
On 22 Feb 1666, Robert was one of the inhabitants of Milton signing an agreement saying they were willing to move the meeting house. [Ref, p. 4] On 6 Aug 1669, the town minster, Mr. Emerson, said that he was leaving. Sgt. Badcock was one of the men chosen to get some help for the sabbath.[Ref, p. 4] On 19 Nov 1669 Sgt. Badcock was one of the men chosen to set a rate to pay for the purchase of land and a house for the ministry and to pay Mr. Emerson. [Ref, p. 5] On 10 Dec 1669 Sgt. Babcock was one of the men chosen to check on the payment of Mr. Emerson. [Ref, p. 8] On 16 Feb 1669/70, Mrs. Emerson said that everyone but George Badcock had paid. [Ref, p. 8] On the last day of Sep 1670, Sgt. Badcock was one of the men chosen to arrange for a new meetinghouse to be built. [Ref, p. 8-9] On 10 (1) 70/71 Robert Badcock was one of the men chosen to oversee the building of the meetinghouse. [Ref, p. 11] Robert Badcock was chosen selectman on 8 Dec 1673. [Ref, p. 16] On 13 Sep 1676 Sgt. Robert Babcock was one of the men chosen to receive payment for Mr. Mighell. On 12 (1) 76/77 Robert was selectman. [Ref, p. 23] On 10 Dec 1677 Robert Badcock was chosen selectman. [Ref, p. 25] On 13 (12) 1678 Robert Badcock was taxed. [Ref, p. 27] Sgt. Robert Badcock was chosen a rate setter on 15 (10) 1685. [Ref, p. 41] Robert Badcock was commissioner in Milton in 1687. [Ref, p. 48] On 8 Jun 1691 Robert Badcock was chosen selectman. [Ref, p. 87]

MARGARET BADCOCK (c. 1630 - 1705)
Parents: Appleton [Ref, p. ] asserts that David Badcock, who was a member of the Dorchestor church in 1640, was probably a father of Robert, George Badcock and Margaret Badcock.
Margaret Badcock was the sister of Robert Badcock of Milton. [Ref, p. 72] She was born about 1630. She died on 21 May 1705 [Ref, p. 72, aged about 75 years] in Sherborn. [Ref, w. Henry] She married Henry Leland.
EBENEZER BADCOCK (1662 - 1717) of Sherborn
Parents: Sgt. Robert Badcock and Joanna Unknown [Ref, p. 2]
Ebenezer Badcock was born on 2 Oct 1662 [Ref and Ref, p. 21, give only the year] in Milton. [Ref][Ref, p. 2] He died on 15 Dec 1717 in Sherborn. [Ref] He married Hannah Barbour. [Ref][Ref]
